1st Week

1st Day

We met Ma'am Flerida, the person in charge of us, and had a meeting where we're told the history of the agency and the house rules. We elected our officers and had a tour around the place.

2nd Day

We learned how to make paper fruit bags and their purpose which is to protect the mango fruit from the insects. The end of the paper bag is slanted because the water will flow out from there and this will keep the fruit from rotting.

We went inside the Tissue Culture Center and met the people in charge of the place. They oriented us about tissue culture and showed us how to prepare the medium used which is made up of water, agar, sugar and etc.

3rd Day

We were lectured on the different types of weeds an taught how to identify them. We had another orientation about tissue culture and they taught us how to cut and clean the sucker of the banana. We placed the sucker of the banana in a bottle with a medium composed of water, agar, sugar and etc.

4th Day

We spent the whole afternoon having another orientation and doing every process involved in tissue culture.

5th Day

We had a lecture about Vegetables and Postharvest Handling of Vegetables together with the college students.
