The Sixth Day (and the seventh too..)

Our first five days in WESVIARC ended last week on April 20, now, our second week has just begun. So far, I can say that I've learned a lot of new things already.

APRIL 23(Monday)

Our sixth day started with a flag ceremony, our second in WESVIARC. After that, we no longer had to wait for someone to notice us, since Ma'am Flerida was with us during the flag ceremony. We were divided into two groups(actually, the grouping was done last week..), and these two groups consist of......Group 1:
me(carla), Tricia, Kate, Audie, Gregory, Ace, Terence, Edward, Laje, Kent, and Lurence. the other group(Group 2) consists of: Chari, Mitzi, Gelli, Ramon, Jonathan, Christopher, Aisha, and Czarina. These groups were assigned to two different research centers,. Group 1 went to the Crops center, while Group 2 went to the Livestock Center.
So, the "real" activities started that day. in the morning, we met Ma'am Evelyn, and she discussed the different types of decomposers in fertilizers, like the African ____ earthworm(i forgot), EM(effective microorganism) Trichoderma fungi, and............water..(yes, they consider water a decomposer..=)) I didn't really pay that much attention since i was not feeling well..
In the afternoon, we met at the "nursery" section. There, we maet Manong Iking and Manong Ricky, they were the ones who taught us about the different types of plant propagation. Then, they taught us how to handle a budding knife!! Cool, huh?! After that, they let us try out the grafting process. It was hard, i tell you, especially since my hands were shaking!! But then, it was fun..=) since we finished early, we were dismissed early.. That was the end of our sixth day in WESVIARC.

APRIL 24(Tuesday)

On the seventh day,
we practically did nothing, since Ma'am Evelyn was not around. Nong Ricky just made us fill up this little black plastic bags with soil, and then we were dismissed!! it was as short as that..=)

7 days down, 13 more to go..

"life is not a race..it's a journey.."=)
