We celebrated the 48^th anniversary of WESVIARC. The day started with a mass followed by a parade. After which, a contest was held for the employees of WESVIARC. During the program, we stayed in the conference hall to practice our intermission number for the afternoon. We had our shared lunch in a mini forest. It was not really a good place to eat but it is the only spot left. After which, there was a dance sports participated in by contestants from Iloilo and Antique. They danced samba, rumba and many more and the winner was the pair from Iloilo.

May 8

Our assignment was at the seed laboratory. Ma’am Flerida accompanied us to the seed lab. The assigned lecturer gave us a quiz. We were all shocked because we have no idea about the questions given. After that, we discussed the answers to the quiz. However, Sir noticed that we were quite inactive so he dismissed us to have lunch.

In the afternoon, we returned to the seed lab. The lecturer during our morning session was not around so Sir Vemesio replaced him. We went to the seed health where it is air-conditioned and learned the materials they use in studying seed borne fungi and pathogens. We went back to the conference hall to do something. We placed 25 rice seeds on a three layer of wet filter paper and placed it inside the incubation room.

May 9

It was our group’s turn to drive the tractor. At first sight, it looks complicated but when it was my turn to drive, it was just like driving a bump car. Ma’am Flerida then told us to stay at the nursery. After some time, she dismissed us early.
