April 30
In the morning,we conducted a survey on the residents of WESVIARC. We enjoyed interacting with other people.
In the afternoon, we had a lecture about the rice plant. We learned that the rice have four main parts: panicle, leaf, stem, and the roots. We also learned the 3 growth phases of rice:
~vegetative phase (from germination- panicle initiation)
~ reproductive phase (from panicle initiation- flowering)
~ ripening phase (from flowering- harvesting)
I thought working in WESVIARC will free me from math equations. But I was wrong. In order to know how many days is the vegatative phase,we must subtract 65 from the number of the days of maturity.
May 2
We thought our group will be already taught on how to drive a tractor. But because almost all employees were busy for the anniversary (which will be next week), we did nothing.
May 3
Time is indeed fast. We are already on our 15th day of apprenticeship in WESVIARC.
In the morning, we segregated packets of viable plant and herbs from the expired ones.
We also classified them into species and varieties in where they belong. I realized that there are many varieties of cucumber, pumpkins, lettuce and other vegetables and herbs.
In the afternoon we practised our intermission number for the anniversary celebration of wesviarc which will be on Monday, May 7.
